Our six kids loved the casitas in California, so we built a Skita: a cozy, timber-and-stone ski casita a 5-minute walk from the Cabriolet, the lift up to Canyons Village at Park City Mountain.

This season we’re offering it to one family for the whole winter. Come for Christmas, MLK weekend, Presidents’ Day and spring break, or any weekend the snow is good. Your skis, boots and helmets wait here between trips, and the beds are always yours.

Who we are

From one ski family to another.

We’re a local family that skis Park City and Deer Valley every week. Several of our kids have been ski instructors, and Dad taught ski school for more than 20 years.

We’ve been there: late flights, tired kids, lost mittens and too much gear. Need a good beginner run, a favorite dinner spot or a powder-day plan? Just ask.

“Every photo on this site is from our own family ski days. We hope your family makes the same magic here.”

Questions families ask

What dates does the season rental cover?

December 15, 2026 through April 15, 2027. The Skita is yours the whole time, so come and go whenever you like.

Can we rent it by the month or the night?

No. The Skita goes to one family for the whole season at one fixed price.

Can we share the season with another family?

Please talk with us first. Sharing with cousins or another family may be an option, but we need to agree on it before anyone new arrives at the Skita.

How much does it cost?

$14,000 for the season if you sign by December 2, 2026, and we reimburse your family’s ski passes, up to $3,300. After December 2 it’s $10,500, with no pass reimbursement.

How does the ski pass offer work?

Sign by December 2, when Epic Passes go off sale. You buy your own passes, because Epic and Ikon require each skier to sign their own pass agreement and waiver. Then we reimburse you up to $3,300, enough for 2 adult and 2 child Epic Passes. One reimbursement per season contract. Already bought your passes? We reimburse those too.

What happens after we click Reserve?

You send us a request, and nothing is charged. We reply to answer your questions, and we’re happy to give you a video tour. Then we send the season agreement to sign, and you pay by bank wire, so there are no card fees. Buy your ski passes, and we reimburse you up to $3,300.

How close is it to the lifts?

It’s a 5-minute walk to the Cabriolet, which takes you up to the Canyons Village lifts at Park City Mountain. Deer Valley is a 10-minute drive or 20 minutes on the free bus.

Can we leave our ski gear between trips?

Yes. That’s the point. Skis, boots and helmets stay at the Skita, so you fly without ski bags.

Which ski pass should we get?

The Epic Pass covers Park City Mountain. The Ikon Pass includes 7 days at Deer Valley. Epic Passes go off sale December 2. Skita is not affiliated with Epic or Ikon.

Who lives in the main house?

We do. The Miller family (my wife and I) lives in the main house. The Skita has its own 100% private entrance, the door you see in the photos. It’s the only way in, so your space is yours alone.

Is there parking?

Yes, we have one parking spot for a single car. Parking in Park City is limited, and both Canyons Village and the Park City Mountain base charge for it. That’s why most of our guests skip the car: the lift is a 5-minute walk, and the free town buses stop nearby.

Can we use the hot tub?

Yes. We have a hot tub on the property, and we’re happy to share it. It isn’t just for the Skita, so we ask everyone to follow a few simple rules for safety. We’ll go over them when you arrive.

What if it’s a bad snow year?

We’ve lived here more than 20 years. We’ve seen epic winters and some thinner ones. Snowmaking gets better every year, and even in a lean year the mountain has plenty of open runs and great skiing. Most visitors never know whether it’s a “good” or “bad” year. To someone from a non-ski town, a Park City ski day almost always feels epic.

What if the resort isn’t open?

Your season runs December 15 to April 15. Park City Mountain counts as open on any day it has at least one lift running for skiing. If no lifts are running on some of those days, like a late opening or an early close, we’ll refund those days of lodging.

We take your season price, subtract what we reimbursed for your Epic Passes, and divide by the 122 days in the season. You get that amount back for each closed day. Example: $14,000 − $3,288 for passes = $10,712 for lodging, about $88 a day. If the mountain opens December 20, you’d get 5 days back, about $439.

Epic Passes are not refundable through us. Epic has its own refund protection, called Epic Coverage.
